Kate's First Half of 2012 Fashion: Duchess of Cambridge's Style

It's the year of the Queen's Jubilee.  It's the year of the London Olympic Games.  It's a major year for Britain.  And how has the newest member to the family do this year in the fashion stakes?

The Duchess seems to love the Union Jack, picking the colors of her clothing most often within the shades  of red, white and blue.  She also dresses in neutrals and monochromatic hues.

Opting for very clean cuts, occasionally patterned, and simple accessories, Kate's started off her first half of this year in style and grace.

For royal events, Kate has two go to dress cuts: shift dress/pencil skirt or fit-and-flair with pleating on the skirt.  For casual appearances, Kate is almost exclusively in skinny jeans.  She knows what works on her body, and sticks with it.

Do you wish she'd go out of her comfort zone and try something a bit different?  Or do you prefer Kate's lady-like tried-and-true looks?

Edit: After posting, articles surfaced estimating the cost of Kate's wardrobe for 2012.  The reports detailed the cost of "official" outfits worn by the Duchess were funded by her father-in-law, Prince Charles. The cost of the above looks ran the Duke of Cornwall £35,000 or roughly $54,000.  The exact number will likely not be known, but when Prince Charles releases his financial statement it will reveal any additional spending that has incurred since the wedding of his son to Kate Middleton.
